Saint Catherine's College (Oxford) Foundation
Planned Giving
St. Catherine’s College would not exist today without the support of overseas alumni. Dr. Rudolf Light, an American alumnus of the St. Catherine’s Society, began the tradition of American support for the College by donating 1,600,000 pounds between 1961 and 1973. Rudy Light remains the College’s largest benefactor. Since the College’s founding, thousands of overseas alumni have made donations to endow fellowships and scholarships, establish prizes, construct buildings, and support academic programmes and extra-curricular activities.
Outright gifts are the most popular form of contribution, but there are also numerous other ways to lend financial support to the College. Life income gifts and bequests can help secure the financial well being of the College while offering individuals and their heirs tax savings and income payments.
The following web pages outline types of planned gifts United States taxpayers may consider. Taxpayers to other countries should consult their legal or financial advisors to see if they are permitted similar benefits under their national tax systems.
